Rev. Miller offers his polemic against the Episcopalian practice of the time that taught against Presbyterians being Christian by not following the ecclesiastical prelacy practiced by the Church of England. The bulk of the book is an historical documentation beginning with the New Testament demonstrating Miller's opposing ecumenical view on ranks of clergy, power of clergy, and apostolic succession including defining the terms bishop, presbyter, elder, and deacon, as well as how worship, ordination, and the Lord's Supper should be practiced and their meaning in regard to salvation. Miller calls the practice of Christians dooming other Christians to Hell over opposing theological view virtual excommunication. In so many words he states that opposition and disagreement should not lead to judgment of damnation. In the preface Miller states that this publication is a new and abridged edition based upon his 1807 book, Letters on the Constituion and Order of the Christian Ministry.Always!
