The song lyrics tells a very woeful tale through a letter written with shaky hand, describing how everything in the town is all in shambles, yet in the evening the writer seeks solace up on the hillside at the Shrine of St. Cecilia, which to her promises that one day all will be well. St. Cecilia, martyred for her faith in the second century, as best as anyone can document the date, is the patron saint of music because she went to her death singing praises to God. Hubert J.
