It was then, desperate and at the end of himself, that Arterburn cried out to God for a second chance. In doing so, we will learn what it is to be restored to God through unconditional surrender and receive healing from the scars left by our own mistakes. That's what the Moni people of Irian Jaya, Indonesia, call the Christian message. It is the gospel that Bill and Gracie Cutts spent a lifetime proclaiming as missionaries of The Christian and Missionary Alliance. Suffering from congenital deformities, Bill had every excuse not to be come a missionary in the rugged interior of Irian Jaya. But instead he and Gracie carried on a ministry that was truly apostolic accompanied by miracles and divine providences. The Cutts' story is dramatic, humorous and compelling. But the overwhelming message is that God can use the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty. And as He chose to use the Cuttses for His purposes, He would be delighted to use you if you are fully surrendered to Him. Campaigning for God in Southern Waters contains the letters of R.G. Finch and C.L. Slater written to their friends and family in Kingswood, Kentucky, the first dated January 8, 1923. In their roles as General Superintendent and Secretary respectively, the two men document the events of visits to missionary stations in the West Indies and Venezuela, South America. Finch and Slater offer their accounts of the visits so the reader learns the same story told from two perspectives. The accounts contain results of souls won for the Lord as a result their preaching and meetings, and interesting information about travel and the West Indies islands and peoples as it was in 1923. For example, Slater relates population numbers for people and animals (cows, goats, sheep, hogs, horses, donkeys) on Saba as well as numbers by church denomination, and no wheels of any kind except a wheelbarrow. The book ends with a brief report of Pilgrim missionary efforts throughout the world titled Thirty Million Heathen Will Die This Year Without the Gospe followed by a list of Needs [of the missionaries serving] in West Indies and South America. Ralph Goodrich Finch (1880-1950) was General Superintendent of Foreign Missions for the Pilgrim Holiness Church at the time of this publication. Their is no publish date offered yet we may assume that soon after Finch and Slater returned to Kentucky that the letters were compiled for printing.Free shipping on domestic orders $25 and over!
