Kowloon H.K.: Bible Light Publishers. No publication date, ca. 1980. Reprint edition (first published 1894). Sold by Bible Publications, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. xiii, 159 pages. Introduction: The two volumes entitled Hymns of Ter Steegen and Others, by Mrs. Frances Bevan, having been out of print for some years, the Lord has given us the unspeakable privilege of once again sending forth to the Lord's people these beautiful hymns. They are for the most part translations from old German hymns of the Middle Ages. By her beautiful translations, Mrs. Bevan has taught us something of that wealth of hymnolology found in the German language. The two words And Others in the title of these unpretentious books not only include hymns by Heinrich Suso (Heinrich Seuse, 1300-1366), Johann Tauler, Paul Gerhardt, and other old writers, but in them Mrs. Bevan, with true humility, hides her own identity as the gifted authoress of upwards of sixty of these beautiful hymns. 11 Boyce-Tillman, June The Creative Spirit: Harmonious Living with Hildegard of Bingen (Rhythm of Life Series)
Canterbury Press 2000 1853113654 / 9781853113659 Paperback Very Good No Jacket Paperback

Current list price 16.00. From the book cover: The figure of Hildegard of Bingen towers both over her own and our present age. Her ideas about healing, the arts, the relationship between science and theology, the interdependence of male and female and the interconnectedness of all living beings with each other and their Creator have extraordinary relevance to our contemporary understanding of these issues. Yet for all Hildegard's astonishing creativity and originality, her spirituality is firmly rooted in the Rule of St. Benedict and its emphasis on daily prayer and meditative reading of the Scriptures. This introduction to her life and thought includes many practical spiritual exercises that will enable us to bring Hildegard's wisdom and vision of wholeness to our busy, fragmented lives today. Used vintage hardcover book copy of At Worship: A Hymnal for Young Churchmen. Roy A. Burkhart, W. Richard Weagly and Hazel R. Brownson, editors. Worship services by Hazel R. Brownson and Roy A. Burkhart. An interesting hymnological index in this book is the chronological Index of Representative Hymns of the Ages showing for each hymn the following: first line of hymn, hymn source, tune and tune source. New York: Harper and Brothers, 1951. I-A. Printed in the United States of America. The book uses three numerical systems for numbering pages: Materials for Worship, 123 pages, divided throughout book with specific services by topic at the end of each section; Hymns, 315 numbered hymns; Prayer Responses to number 26. From the Preface: The book is presented in sections that indicate a path to guide the seeker into the secret made manifest in Christ. It begins with God's natural world and the world of human relationships, it moves to a discovery of the God within; it explores available resources the appropriation of which makes possible in everyday living the commitments accepted; it deals with great life commitments in which the seeker is led to grow into a oneness with God and with all humanity; and, finally, it sets for the meaning of victorious eternal living. Throughout, generous consideration is given to the special occasions and festivals meaningful in the lives of young people which contribute to ongoing spiritual growth. Among the unique features of this hymnbook is the arrangement of worship materials with the hymns according into content. Each main section forms a convenient unit of hymns, prayers, and scripture, poetry and prose readings. The leader of worship is urged to work out his own services making use of the resources available. Free shipping on domestic orders $25 and over!

Lincoln NE: Back to the Bible Broadcast. Copyright 1935 by Good News Broadcasting Association, Inc. 63 numbered songs. 5.5 x 8.5 inches, 22 cm. From the Foreword by Oswald J. Smith, Pastor of The Peoples Church, Toronto, Canada: The Missionary Message in Song is one of the most valuable songbooks every published. In it are gathered the greatest missionary hymns of all time, together with more recent missionary songs which have messages of real merit. For a long time I have felt the need of such a book for our nationwide missionary conventions. Here, at least, is a book which is rich in missionary hymns and yet so inexpensive that any church or convention can afford it. Together with the great missionary hymns of the church, known to Christians everywhere, are some of my most widely used missionary hymns which have been used in missionary conventions throughout the years. these hymns, as well as those of the outstanding missionary leader, Dr. A.B. Simpson, have inspired multitudes of God's people. The editors and compilers have done a magnificent work on this book. The material has been carefully and prayerfully selected. Mr. Clark, Mr. Weiss, and Mr. Epp, particularly, are to be congratulated on the publication of this book. Missionary songs are as important as missionary messages in stirring people to pray, give, and go. I trust that these wonderful hymns will inspire many young people either to volunteer for the foreign mission fields or to send out substitutes, in order to hasten the evangelization of the world and bring back the King. In 1885 he was one of the founding members of the Evangelical Mission Covenant Church. A revivalist preacher while still in his teens, Hultman was not ordained until 1900. One of his ventures was the Hultman Convervatory of Music, which he and his son operated. His warm personality and uplifting songs earned Hultman the title of The Sunshine Singer. He was married twice raising four children with his first wife, Carolina, and continued working as an evangelist until 1942. Hultman published three collections of hymns.
